Mr. Amit Sham Ghatage, born on 5 February 1991 in Kuduchi, Raibag Taluk, Belagavi District, Karnataka State, India, is a politician, industrialist, educationist, and progressive agriculturist. He has achieved a historic milestone by producing an exceptional yield of 180 tons of sugarcane per acre on his agricultural land measuring 10 acres, using the Israeli Ring-Fit Model through the integration of traditional and modern farming technologies. With a yield of 180 tons per acre across 10 acres of land, the total yield reached 1,800 tons.
This remarkable achievement has been officially certified as the highest sugarcane yield recorded in cultivation, marking a significant breakthrough in the field of agriculture. In previous years, Mr. Ghatage recorded impressive yields, including 40 tons of green chilli per acre, 28 tons of capsicum per acre, and 120 and 140 tons of sugarcane per acre, along with several other crops. For the first time in India, a yield of 180 tons of sugarcane per acre has been achieved, with each sugarcane plant measuring approximately 30 feet in length and weighing between 4 to 5 kilograms. In recognition of this extraordinary accomplishment and his efforts to demonstrate that the impossible can become possible for farmers, KABR has proudly appreciated and honored Mr. Amit Sham Ghatage.
